The immediate consequences have been simple and expected, whether through restrictions on confidential information shared with the US or official requests for surveillance accounts.
Concerning the NSA and the American services, the consequences are double at least, the loss of morale whose beginning of bloom of articles on this subject supports me and especially a terrible loss of what I call materials with very high added value, their tools. On this last point, I decide to dwell a little because it has almost been omitted and it is rather serious.
Indeed, the NSA has lost its IT tools, its operational capacities are reduced. During this time, the missions it carries out are also impacted and public security is directly and indirectly affected. Without forgetting that according to some sources, the NSA has still not succeeded in knowing the extent of the compromise.
Finally, global IT security is at risk because of these disclosures. If the U.S. used this information for operational purposes, now that it is available, it can be used by many audiences, from good to evil. Even if corrective measures exist for the most part, if not all, of the information disclosed, the reality is that they are not applied everywhere, and it is the most critical circles that have the most difficulty implementing them, threatening activities when it is not directly or indirectly public safety.
